KINGSTON FRONTENACS
The Kingston Frontenac Hockey Club is a proud member of the 20 team Ontario Hockey League. The League extends as far north as Sault Ste. Marie, as far south as Windsor and as far east as Ottawa. There are three American teams, two in Michigan, one in Pennsylvania.
Each team is comprised of players ranging in age from 16 to 20 years, and who are billeted with local families in the community when they are living in their host city for the season.
The regular season runs from September to mid March, followed by play-offs. At the conclusion of the League Championship series, the winner plays for the prestigious Memorial Cup, a challenge tournament between the three Leagues of the Canadian Hockey League and the host city.
The Kingston Frontenacs play their home games at the Kingston Memorial Centre. Located at 303 York Street, the Memorial Centre was built in 1950 and has a seating capacity of 3,079 with 300 standing room seats. The majority of the Frontenac's 34 home contests are played on Friday nights starting at 7:30 p.m.
